The Center of Islamic Theology – Professorship for Hadith Studies, is seeking a

postdoctoral researcher (m/f/d; E 13 TV-L, 100%)

for a period of 3 years.

The position comprises:

  • Teaching of 4 credit hours per week,
  • Supporting tasks for the Professorship of Hadith Studies,
  • Preparation of a project application in the field of Hadith Studies and Prophetology.

The requirements include a full university education with a doctorate in the field of Islamic Studies, Arabic Studies or Islamic Theology. We are looking for a highly motivated and talented scholar who is interested in conducting research in the field of theological Hadith studies and who is familiar with the relevant areas. Academic knowledge of Prophetology, Sufism, Comparative Theology, or Hermeneutics, as well as experience in preparing proposals for external funding, would be advantageous. Excellent Arabic and English skills are desirable.
